Break Free From Plastic is a global movement to find lasting solutions to plastic pollution. They promote pollution prevention by advocating for systemic change.

Ocean Cleanup
Ocean Cleanup is seeing promising results from their large-scale clean-up systems deploying to the Pacific garbage patch as well as with river interceptors. They've also been doing some interesting work in modeling where plastic may be more dense to maximize efforts.

Plastic Pollution Coalition
The Plastic Pollution Coalition is a broad coalition of organizations and individuals dedicated to education and advocacy. Their site includes a handy educational resource library as well as links to petitions and a legislative database.

Precious Plastic
Precious Plastic is a global community of folks working to reduce plastic waste. Most notably, they help bridge gaps in waste management infrastructure by promoting small-scale recycling operations. Plans for recycling equipment and instructions on how to use it are freely available online, along with suggestions for how to set up and run a recycling workspace.

The Sea Monkey Project
This is a small project with great potential as a model program. Started by a sailing family and part of the larger Precious Plastic community, they have been working on educational programs and recycling workshops to help local communities where they are.

The Surfrider Foundation works to protect and improve the health of our oceans and coastal ecosystems for the continued benefit of all. Their efforts include water testing, beach clean-up, and pollution prevention programs.
